‘Praying for our Schools’ is set for Aug. 1 at 2 p.m.

Pam Gardner (Still Blessed) will be in concert at Lantrip Baptist Church Saturday, July 31 at 6 p.m.
It was this week, July 29, 1472, when the first almanac was printed.
All my life an almanac has been in our home. Stores stocked them and gave one free with a calendar to all their customers.
Still receive an almanac through the mail but a small fee is required.

Hopefully, they will survive and produce fruit, which aids in diabetic conditions and control of cancer.
A time of “Praying for our Schools” has been set for Sunday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. at each of the schools in the county.
One may attend the school of their choice to pray for the next school year.

They had some good services at Friendship Baptist Church last week.
Attended three of the services at Friendship and Willa Kay attended two.
Bro. Parish Hartley spoke the first night I attended and Bro. Owen Hitchcock preached the other two nights
Angie Smith brought special music Thursday evening and Shirley Spencer, accompanied by Debbie Hitchcock, brought the special Friday
Norman Clark was song director for the revival. Bonnie Williams and Kenneth Alexander were the instrumentalists.
Are people reading less these days? According to “The July 14 issue of ‘Christian Century’, Oxford University Press, in August, will shut down its printing arm for good. Their first book was printed in 1478, only a few years after the printing press was invented.

Large crowd at the Mildred Spratlin funeral in Bruce Saturday. She and her family were among my first acquaintances when I started at Oak Grove in 1965.

Good to have Patsy Leachman back at church Sunday.
Bailey Memorial at Loyd will have revival August 1-4.
Sympathy to all bereaved families.
We pray for those in special need including James and Frances Simmons.
