By Published On: December 1, 2020

Mikel Shoemaker, 60, of Calhoun City passed from this life  November 30, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City. Born November 9, 1960, in Biloxi, he was a son to Thelma Tutor Liles and James Oliver Shoemaker.

Better known to his friends and loved ones as “Waddles”, he graduated from D’Iberville High School in 1979. With a vast knowledge and education of all that is current and circuit, he found a lifelong career as a start specialist for electrical operations. He had a strong affection for the great outdoors, where he indulged in his favorite hobbies. On cold mornings, when he was up to brave the elements, he could be found awaiting ducks in hopes of a good hunt. He might also be far from the water’s edge when deer were in season. In contrast to the active hunting lifestyle, he found rest and relaxation in the activities surrounding camping.

Although he has finished the race set before him, his memory will continue to dwell within the hearts of his loved ones, including his loving wife, Carol Shoemaker,  Calhoun City; mother, Thelma Liles, Bruce; stepmother, Alice Shoemaker, Ocean Springs; brother, James (Alvina) Shoemaker, Banner, and sister, Delores Suarey,  Ocean Springs. He was preceded in death by his father, James Shoemaker; paternal grandparents, Tony and Mary Shoemaker, and maternal grandparents Jimmie and Artis Tutor.

His memorial service be Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce.

Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce and Vardaman is honored to serve the family. Online condolences may be composed at parkermemorialfuneralhomes.com
