Derma, Vardaman News: Pacemaker put in, ready for more Pickleball

By Published On: July 29, 2021

I missed having an article in last weeks paper, but I was in the hospital at Tupelo Sunday night waiting for a pacemaker to be implanted.
The one good thing was I did find a temporary Pickleball net for use in Calhoun City. It was half price so I went to Columbus to get it while it was still available.
Temporary net meaning it can be set up any time or place we can get ones to play.

I may not be able to play for a few weeks, not sure, but will find out. Anytime before that though can still help others get a game going.
Kirbye Burns, Orlando, FL, came to be with his mother for her vascular surgery. He was such a huge help by driving her and Ken to and from the hospital and taking care of the situations.
While at home, he helped clean, cook and clean out ‘stuff’. Thanks to a few friends, they had good food and desserts.

As he was packing to fly home, he was looking through all of Marcia’s jellies. Muscadine is his favorite and she only had half pint jars made…such a sad face!
He finally found plum and grape so he carefully rolled each jar in clothes and all arrived safely in Orlando. Kids, no matter what age, love to come home for favorite foods.
In support of the VHS basketball team there will be a Vardaman Alumni Game Saturday, Aug. 14. VHS basketball players are selling chances on $100 and $200.
FMI and if interested in playing, contact Coach Eddie Neal. This sounds like a fun time, so go out and help the basketball program at Vardaman High School.

If you happen to see Richard or Barbara Wade Tutor out and about, you will see them with the biggest smiles ever. Barbara was so excited announcing she was a “Mimi” for the first time when Oliver Nico Reese was delivered into the family.
Congratulations on your precious first grand.
Prayers for our sick ones this week ones I’ve heard from are Marcia Burns home recovering from surgery, Betty Logan, Jim and Jan Scarbrough, Billy Frank and Glenda Funderburg, James and Frances Simmons, Jimmy Coker, Ann Whitt, Calvin Barnett, Shirley Herrod, Shirley Curtis, and Alan Murphree.

They are David Lee Jr., Larry Lee, J. G. White, Phillip Goodson, Paul Shoemake, Polly Keeton and James Ed Crutchfield.
