Local Teams Play Well At World Series

Sisters) year old girls’ softball teams all participated in World
Series play this past weekend in Southaven.

Bruce 7-8 (Cal Chick Bratz), 9-10 (Gator Girls), and 11-12 (Twisted Sisters) year old girls’ softball teams all participated in World Series play this past weekend in Southaven.
Cal Chick placed fourth out of 19 teams from Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. They won three of their five games in the series.
Cal Chick defeated Jasper, Al. 15-2; defeated Batesville 8-4; lost to Philadelphia 14-15; defeated Batesville 16-10, and lost their final game to Pontotoc 19-5.
The Calhoun County Gator Girls (9-10) won two of their four games. They were defeated by Corinth Friday 10-3.
The Gators won their first game Saturday 4-1 against Hayden, Al., and second game 14-13 against Senatobia.
In their final game Saturday, they were shut-out 5-0 by Houston.
The Twisted Sisters (11-12) were edged by Carrolton Friday 3-2. Saturday they were shut-out 10-0 by Senatobia, and lost in extra innings to Vinemont, Al. 9-8.
