Wildcats Dominate Powerlifting Meet

Calhoun City dominated the competition in last week’s powerlifting meet, more than doubling its closest competitor in points.

Calhoun City dominated the competition in last week’s powerlifting meet, more than doubling its closest competitor in points.
The Wildcats led the points total with 76, followed by West Lowndes 32, Okolona 27, Thrasher 15, Jumpertown and Wheeler 11 each, and East Oktibbeha nine.
Eight different Wildcats finished first in their weight class – Rainer Nichols, Trey Brownlee, Jonathan Reynolds, Darnell Pulliam, Marquez Jones, Rokedrick Mayes, Raheem Roberson, and T.J. Clanton. Charvis Pierce and Avery Hill each earned second and James Treadwell third.
The top squat, bench press and dead lift were all turned in by Wildcats.
Raheem Roberson recorded the best squat of the day at 470 pounds.
T.J. Clanton had both the top bench press, 300 pounds, and dead lift, 520 pounds, in the competition.
