Wildcats Advance In 1A Playoffs

Calhoun City completed the second round of the class 1A playoffs like
the first, with a two game sweep. The Wildcats rolled through Wheeler
in two games to set up a third round matchup with West Union beginning
Friday, May 1.

Calhoun City completed the second round of the class 1A playoffs like the first, with a two game sweep. The Wildcats rolled through Wheeler in two games to set up a third round matchup with West Union beginning Friday, May 1.
The Wildcats will travel to West Union Friday for a 6 p.m. game. Saturday’s game two will be at Calhoun City with the third game, if necessary, returning to West Union on Monday.
The Wildcats won the opening game of the Wheeler series 5-3 behind the pitching of Charlie Easley. He went 6 1/3 innings allowing only one earned run. Raheem Roberson earned the save by getting the final two outs.
Tyler Gray, Roberson, Easley, Josh Warren, Colby Havens, Tae Lawrence, Jarvis Rounds, Braedan Reynolds, and Eric Childs all had hits in the game.
The Wildcats completed the sweep with an 8-3 win Friday night.
Raheem Roberson earned the win for the ‘Cats with a complete game, allowing two earned runs while striking out 10.
Tyler Gray and Joshua Warren each had multiple hits for the Wildcats. Roberson and Easley each added a double.
Jarvis Rounds singled and scored two runs. Tae Lawrence drove in two runs with a single. Braedan Reynolds also singled.
Calhoun City was out hit 10-9 in the game, but made the most of three Wheeler fielding errors.
