A Vardaman teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident involving a cement truck on Hwy. 8 last Wednesday (July 28) morning.
Bradley Walker, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck that occurred in front of the en-trance to Vardaman Schools.
Walker was reportedly heading east in a Jeep SUV on his way to work at Grocer’s Pride in Houston when he collided with a Nabors cement truck headed west.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Walker, a 2009 graduate of Vardaman High School, is the son of William and Angie Walker. He is also survived by his sister and brother  Brandie and Brandon Walker.
A hamburger supper fundraiser was held at Vardaman High School last Saturday to help offset funeral expenses. More than $2,000 was raised.
A special dedication honoring Walker is also planned for Aug. 20 prior to the beginning of the Rams’ first home football game.
Funeral services for Walker were moved to the Vardaman High School gym last Friday due to the crowd. For a complete obit see page seven.
