Vardaman remains in control of 1-1A with 55-20 win at Biggersville

The Vardaman Rams remained perfect in Region 1-1A with a 55-20 win at Biggersville Friday night.

The Rams led 13-0 after the opening quarter and a 3-yard scoring run by Donta Walker and a 20-yard touchdown pass from Cody Jenkins to Ta West.

Bigersville cut the lead to 13-8 early in the second quarter on a touchdown pass from Darion Barnett to Blake Stacy, but they would draw no closer.

Vardaman answered with five and 35 yard touchdown runs by Jenkins to go up 27-8.

Another Barnett to Stacy TD pass cut that to 27-14, but then Donta Walker returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown in the last three minutes of the half for a 35-14 lead at the half.

Biggersville opened the second half with their final points – a 7-yard run by Bradley Davis. It was all Rams after that.

Jenkins scored on a 9-yard run. Lakreston Ewing opened the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Tavis Townsend completed the scoring with a 47-yard touchdown run.

The Rams improved to 5-3 overall, 5-0 in region play. Biggersville dropped to 2-6.

Vardaman hosts Houlka next Friday.
