The Vardaman Rams continued to show their dominance of Region 1-1A with a 55-0 homecoming win over Biggersville last Friday night.
The Rams improved to 5-0 in region play. The last four wins have all been shutouts. Only Falkner has been able to put up any points against the Rams’ defense.
“We’ve got a really hot streak going on defense and the kids are taking a lot of pride in it,” Vardaman Coach Justin Hollis said. “I feel like we’ve played well on defense all year. We’ve just quit turning the ball over on offense and that’s making the difference.”
Some of the highlights Friday night against Biggersville included two interception returns for touchdowns – a 75-yarder by Will Tutor and a 55-yarder by Donta Walker.

“Start to finish we played well and dominated the game,” Hollis said.

QB?Cody Jenkins completed 9-14 for 134 yards and a touchdown. Donta Walker was his top receiver with three catches for 44 yards. Chase Owen and Ta West each had two catches.
The Rams are scheduled to play winless Houlka Thursday night at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Okolona.
“They’ve played a lot of close games,” Hollis said. “Their kids play really hard.”
