Tillman, Coffey, Howell to be honored at Saturday’s MLK banquet in Pittsboro

Chancery Clerk Romona Tillman, Calhoun City basketball coach Daren Coffey and Calhoun City Middle School teacher Jo Howell will be honored Saturday night at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet at the multi-purpose center in Pittsboro.

John E. Rimmer, a Vardaman native, graduate of South Calhoun High School and U.S. Army Veteran, will be the featured speaker at the banquet, sponsored by the Loggins Scholarship Fund.

Entertainment will be provided by Meosha Denton, Rimmer’s niece and an American Idol contestant.

The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. and include a meal. Admission is $10.
