The Bruce Trojans have won three straight after earning wins last week over South Pontotoc, Walnut and Eupora.

The Bruce Lady Trojans, 6-1, suffered their first loss of the season last week, but bounced back to record their second victory over Vardaman.
The Mississippi Buzz recently won the USSSA Fall National NIT tournament held at Snowden Grove Park in Southhaven.
Calhoun Academy softball travels to Hebron Christian this weekend for a tournament. The Lady Cougars finished the regular season tied for third in division with a 5-5 record. They were 7-7 overall.

Bruce 7-8 (Cal Chick Bratz), 9-10 (Gator Girls), and 11-12 (Twisted
Sisters) year old girls’ softball teams all participated in World
Series play this past weekend in Southaven.
The Mississippi Sox won the 2008 14-year-old USSSA World Series in Canton last weekend. Jay King and Barrett Wooten of Bruce both play for the Sox. Tommy King of Bruce is an assistant coach.
The Cal Chicks 7-8-year-old girls’ softball team from Bruce swept the
State Tournament in Eupora last weekend to earn the championship. The Calhoun County Gator Girls 9-10-year-old girls’ softball team is
also advancing to the World Series after a fourth place finish at state. The Bruce Twisted Sisters 11-12-year-old all star softball team will also advance to the World Series in Southaven, July 24-28.
The Bruce high school baseball team earned second at the Dizzy Dean State Tournament last weekend in Horn Lake. “I was very proud of our guys for the way we played and the summer
we’ve had,” Bruce Coach Sid Burt said. “We enjoyed participating in the
state tournament. It was a great experience.”
