Renee Martin Stegall of Bruce is a big fan of Pinterest when recipe searching, and she is one who likes to try new things.

“If I want to cook, Pinterest is where I go first. But don’t get on Pinterest if you are hungry!”
Most everything she makes from recipes there are good, she said, and one of the first Pinterest boards she made was a food board.
The tomato pie and meatball stroganoff recipes were found on Pinterest, and they are two family favorites. She always serves the meatballs over mashed potatoes, and says it’s an easy recipe because it’s microwavable.

Daughter, Collyns, 4, says her favorite food is tomatoes, so they grow them just for her. When she said she wanted tomato pie, Renee began looking for a recipe, and made her first one this summer.
Everybody ended up liking it and she has frozen some also. The Heaven in a Bowl is a trifle dessert she has been making for years.
Renee and Collyns will try eating anything. Son, Carsen, is a cheeseburger macaroni hamburger helper eater, and also likes pepperoni pizza.

Renee’s favorite food is her granny, Patsy Patterson’s, dressing, but she hasn’t learned to make it yet. Josh’s grandmother, the late Maida (Nanny) Stegall taught her to make one of his favorites–potato soup, and the kids like it, too.
Husband Josh grabbles so he cooks them a lot of catfish. He likes to bake or grill it, but the kids like it fried.
Renee has salmon recipes pinned that she wants to try, especially one cooked with lemon slices and butter.

Tomato Pie
1-9” pie crust
3 tomatoes, thinly sliced
2 tsp. salt
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
Preheat oven to 450°. Press pie crust into 9” pie pan. Prick bottom and sides with fork. Bake crust in preheated oven until lightly browned, 10-12 minutes. Cool completely. Reduce oven temperature to 350°. Place tomatoes in single layer of colander; sprinkle with salt. Let sit about 10 minutes to release moisture. Blot excess moisture with paper towel. Arrange a layer of tomato slices around bottom of cooled pie crust, overlapping slices. Sprinkle half the garlic and half the basil on tomato layer. Sprinkle half the cheddar cheese and half the mozzarella cheese over basil layer. Repeat layering with remaining tomatoes, garlic, basil, cheddar  and mozzarella cheese. Spread mayonnaise over top mozzarella cheese layer. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbling, about 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Meatball Stroganoff
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp. garlic powder
24 meatballs (I buy frozen or pre-made)
1/2 cup sour cream
Hot cooked noodles or mashed potatoes
In 2-qt. casserole, blend soup and milk. Stir in worcestershire, onion and garlic powder. Place in microwave oven. Cook sauce on high for five minutes, stirring every two minutes. Add meatballs and cover. Cook in microwave at high power eight minutes, until sauce is bubbly and meatballs are cooked, stirring twice. Stir 3/4 cup of hot mixture into sour cream, then put back in casserole. Return to microwave. Cook on high power for one minutes. Serve over hot noodles or hot mashed potatoes. Makes 4-6 servings.

Heaven in a Bowl
1 box brownie mix
Chocolate pudding (2 large boxes)
Cool Whip (large container)
Caramel sauce
Heath candy bars (4 regular sized bars)
Prepare brownies according to directions on box. Once brownies are baked and cooled, crumble them. Prepare pudding according to directions. Crush Heath bars into small, bite-sized pieces. Spoon about a third of pudding into trifle dish. Add layer of brownies crumbles. Sprinkle  around some of the crushed candy. Drizzle on some caramel sauce. Top with about half of Cool Whip. Repeat until all ingredients are gone. (For top layer, I usually put a small layer of Cool Whip and then add a few Heath pieces and caramel sauce to decorate the top.)
