William Curtis Brewer, 89, of Bruce,  died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Baptist Memorial N.MS in Oxford. Born July 21, 1927 in Itawamba County, he was the son of D.W. Brewer and Letha Millican Brewer. He was the husband of Inez Shelton  Brewer whom he married November 9, 1957. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy, in the Pacific on a mine sweeper.

He had a loving wife of 49 years, Clara McFall Wade, who passed away September 3, 1999. He was a hard worker--a true MS dairy man, cotton, and grain farmer. He was a World War II veteran. Loomis L. Robertson, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born in Ellard. He was a member of Oxford Church of Christ, and he served 27 years in the U.S. Air Force. Lee Ottis Bray, 84, of Bruce, passed away  Monday, July 10, 2017, at Baptist Memorial North MS-Oxford, with his wife and daughter at his bedside as he entered his heavenly home. He was born February 3, 1933 in Houlka, the son of Aaron Chesley Bray and  Mattie Lou Lovelace Bray Roper. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korea Conflict. He attended  Macedonia Baptist Church. He was former owner of Bray Dry Cleaners 11 years and Bray Piano Co. 13 years. He worked for the City of Bruce two years in the maintenance department and was a former engineer for WJRL Radio in Calhoun City. [Read more...]

Joseph Wayne Bryant, 82, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, July 10, 2017. Born August 8, 1934, in Derma,he was the son of  Everette Hill Bryant and  Bessie Ward Bryant. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bruce, as well as a Mason and Shriner. He was a retired truck driver for Camel 66, and proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A very kind and gentle man,  will be deeply missed by his family and friends. William Frye Graves, 93, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Givens Estates Health Center. A native of Montgomery, AL, Bill was the son of the late Henry Norman and Lee Frye Graves. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ann Taylor Graves.
