Calhoun County has a new dentist as Dr. Michael Abraham has purchased Dr. Tom Norman’s practice in Calhoun City.
Dr. Abraham, 40, a native of Vicksburg currently living in Oxford, began working full-time in the clinic last week.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity,” Dr. Abraham said. “This community made this very attractive for me. I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.”
Abraham, a third generation dentist, has been practicing for 14 years.
He is succeeding Dr. Tom Norman who had practiced in Calhoun City almost 50 years.
“Dr. Norman’s legacy here is an integral part of why I came,” Abraham said. “I have such great respect for him and am grateful for this opportunity to follow him.”
Gail Baker, of Bruce, who has worked in the office for 33 years, will continue her work with Dr. Abraham.
He said he would soon add a hygienist to the staff and has long term plans to offer orthodontic services also.
“We’re going to treat the mouth and all its contents,” Abraham said with a smile.
The office, located off Hwy. 9 in front of Mark’s One Stop, will continue its current hours of Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Dr. Abraham said walk-ins and emergencies are “always welcome.”
Dr. Abraham and his wife Ashley have two children – Jack, 13, and Kate, 10.
