The most successful basketball season for the Vardaman Lady Rams in more than 20 years came to an end Thursday night with a 67-49 loss to Ashland in the Class 1A North Quarterfinals at H.W. Byers.
The Lady Rams, Region 4-1A champs, got off to another slow start falling behind 17-6 in the first period.
They closed that gap to only fur points by halftime, but could never draw closer in the second half.
