Ruby T. Hubbard, 88, of Bruce, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 at her daughter’s residence. She was born December 1, 1920 in Calhoun County, the daughter of Marvin Sutton and Dora Denna Culver Turner. She was a homemaker and member of Westside Baptist Church. |

Jacob Oliver Bingham, 75, died December 9, 2008 in Tucson, Az. He was born February 18, 1933, the youngest son of the late Guy V., Sr. and Greta Mitchell Bingham of Bradford Chapel community in southwest Calhoun County. Jake was a retired high school mathematics teacher having taught at Vardaman, Walnut School in Quitman county, and in Greenville, before moving to Fresno, Ca., where he taught for 32 years. After retirement, Jacob and his wife, June, moved to Tucson, Az., where they lived for 14 years. |

Charles Howard Taylor, 85, of Calhoun City, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born December 9, 1923 in Calhoun County, the son of Fate and Minnie Pearl Clark Taylor. He was a retired inspector with General Motors and was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church. |

Cozette Morgan McKibben, 84, of Bruce, passed away Tuesday evening at Bruce Community Living Center after a brief illness. She was born December 18, 1924, in Centralia, Il. to Walter Clifton and Sadie Webb Morgan. Mrs. McKibben was a member of Parker Baptist Church where she attended as long as health allowed. She was a devoted family woman working along side her husband, Max, for many years on their farm west of Bruce. The two of them shared a love for gardening and shared their vegetables far and near with friends and family. |

A.D. Wright Jr., 81, of Vardaman, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 at NMMC in Eupora. He was born February 19, 1927 in the Banner community of Calhoun County, the son of A.D. Wright Sr. and Sara Estelle Shepard Wright. He was a member and deacon of Vardaman First Baptist Church and was a current Town of Vardaman board of alderman member. He was retired from Caviness Woodworking in Calhoun City after over 25 years of service as an electrician, and was retired from Caviness Woodworking. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the Sweet Potato Festival Committee. |

Jennifer Carol White departed this life on Friday, January 16, 2009, at 20 years of age. She died in her sleep at home due to an unknown sudden illness. A service celebrating Jennifer's life was Monday, January 19, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Kings Highway Christian Church, Shreveport.
