| Pittsboro Finalizes Flag For Town |

|
By JOEL McNEECEThe Pittsboro Board of Aldermen have settled on a flag design for the town and are looking into pricing to have the first batch made. The flag is red and blue with a large outline of the State of Mississippi in the center and two magnolias in the bottom corners. "Pittsboro" is written prominently across the top. Inside the outline of the state, Pittsboro's status as the county seat is noted with a picture of the courthouse and a slogan that reads "The Heart of Calhoun County" and notes the town's founding in 1852. The flag was designed by alderman Keith Thacker and Alderwoman Cindy Hubbard. In other news, the board noted the town's water tank along Hwy. 9 is in need of painting. No action was taken. The board also heard several complaints about water bills being "too high" and the lack of water pressure. |
