Shirley Babb McPhail, 71, retired employee of the City of Oxford Electric Department, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at her home in Oxford. The funeral service was Saturday 11 a.m. at Waller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Sockwell and Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Born in Paris, MS, Mrs. McPhail was the widow of Bobby G. McPhail. She was a former member of Paris Baptist Church and a current member of Anchor Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fonzo and Mary Babb; one brother, Ralph H. Babb and her son-in-law, Chris Roberts.
