| Calhoun City Climbs Atop Class 2A Rankings |

Calhoun City has climbed on top of the Class 2A rankings for boys' basketball in the state. Wildcat Head Coach Darren Coffey said the high ranking is welcome. "I like it," Coach Coffey said. "It's put a little added pressure on us to succeed and we need that." The Wildcats are 18-4 overall heading into Friday's region game with East Webster. The team has won seven in a row to climb the rankings to number one. "You've got to have a dream and a goal and ours has been to get to the state championship," Coffey said. "We want those expectations." Coffey said he didn't think his players put a lot of emphasis on the number one ranking. "They're focused on getting better," Coffey said. "We've got to get more consistent withour play throughout the entire game. That will be critical when we hit the post season." Saturday, the Wildcats travel to Okolona to play the Chieftains who are ranked number one in the state in Class 1A. Okolona was the last team to beat Calhoun City on Dec. 19.
