Three Bruce young men have been arrested and charged for the recent break-ins at Calhoun Academy and Bruce High School.
Markeith "Mark" Witherspoon, 22, Derrick Bobo, 20, and Jalani Thomas, 19, are all charged with burglary of a commercial building and are being held on $25,000 bond at the jail in Pittsboro.
Deputy Dewyane Winter said Bruce Police Chief Stan Evans received information of shooting taking place last week on Annette Street in Bruce.
Bruce Police and the sheriff's department looked into the shooting report and found the suspects and a Browning .22 rifle. The gun matched the rifle stolen from Calhoun Academy last week. The gun was donated to the school for a raffle at the fall festival.
Winter said the three suspects confessed to not only the Calhoun Academy break-in, but also the break-in at Bruce where approximately $100 was stolen from the band hall.
Winter said authorities are still investigating the break-in at the county courthouse in Pittsboro.
