Banner Man Charged After Shooting Son-In-Law PDF Print E-mail

A Banner man has been charged with aggravated assault in the shooting of his step son-in-law.
James D. "Jimmy" Turner, 40, of 31 CR 267, Banner, was charged in connection with the shooting of Joshua Dewayne Pratt, 23.
The incident happened Friday night around 11:30 p.m. in front of Banner store. Authorities described it as a domestic altercation that escalated. Pratt was shot in the chest with a .9 mm pistol.
Pratt is married to Turner’s step-daughter, according to Calhoun County Sheriff Billy Mac Gore.
His address is listed at  911 CR 230, Water Valley, which is in Calhoun County.
Pratt was airlifted from the scene to The Med in Memphis where he is in satisfactory condition.
Gore said the investigation is continuing with the possibility of charges on other individuals.
