According to Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) officials, Highway 32 at County Road 99 in Yalobusha County will close on Sept. 1 to allow crews to perform work in the area. Crews will close Hwy. 32 beginning at CR 99 extending one-half mile to allow crews to replace box culverts and construct a new bridge. This section of highway will remain closed for approximately four to five months. “As crews are making improvements on this project, motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route as crews work diligently to provide a safe transportation network for the people of Mississippi,” said Richard Allen, MDOT District Two Engineer. “MDOT regrets any inconvenience this necessary work may cause the traveling public.” The North Mississippi Herald of Water Valley reported three bridge sites two miles east of Water Valley would be ongoing. The portion of Hwy. 32 affected starts just east of CR?99 and ends just east of CR?223. Traffic on CR?223 will not be able to enter Hwy. 32. Alternate routes include CR?99, CR?220, and CR?124 o the south, and CR?123 and 122 that connects to Hwy. 315 East. |
