| Authorities Investigating Banner Break-Ins |

By JOEL McNEECE Calhoun County authorities are investigating two house burglaries in the Banner area last Thursday afternoon. Calhoun Deputy Dean Poynor said David and Sherry Black's home at Driver's Flat was broken into first around 3 p.m. Poynor said Mrs. Black was in the shower when the burglars entered the house, but they left when she called out thinking it was her husband. Leslie Harris’ home on Hwy. 9W was broken into soon after. Poynor said witnesses reported a charcoal grey Dodge Intrepid in the driveway with a door open about that time. Poynor said the burglars looked through some medicine bottles at Harris’ home, but nothing was reportedly stolen from either residence. Poynor said they have some leads in the case, but there have been no arrest. |
