It’s too early for March Madness, so consider it February Fever. For all intensive purposes basketball season started last week when the mad dash for the Big House got underway. I like basketball in December and January. I love it right now.

Tom Brady's “Hail Mary” had just dropped to the turf at Lucas Oil Stadium lifting the New York Giants to their second Super Bowl title in four years when my phone began to vibrate. I knew who the text was from before even reaching to grab it – Dr. Bruce Longest. A road trip was in the works for around 2025.

Sitting at our kitchen counter watching step-son Marshall Bailey cook supper the other night I noticed an RC Cola can sitting there. I assumed it belonged to daughter-in-law Whitney as she has yet to reach that transformation point in life when you switch to diet drinks. While at first I didn’t recognize the new modern can, RC Cola brings back great memories for me, but I must admit, being a Diet Coke-aholic the past few decades I wasn’t even aware they still made RC.
