Vardaman Alderman Jeff Hamilton became the seventh qualifier in the Calhoun County Chancery Clerk special election.

Hamilton, who is the first of the candidates who ran in 2007 to enter this election, qualified with the circuit clerk's office on Friday. Hamilton finished third behind Jess Moore and Cassie James in the Democratic Primary in 2007, which had six candidates.
Previous qualifiers include Susanne Wade of Calhoun City, Mark Harrelson of Vardaman, Gary Edwards of Bruce, Whitney Casey of Vardaman, Romona Tillman of Bruce, and Jimmy Clemons of Calhoun City.
The qualifying deadline is Sept. 7. The election is Nov. 6.
