I, Carlton Baker, candidate for the office of Circuit Clerk have authorized the Calhoun County Journal to release my statement to the voters of Calhoun County.
I’m the son of Carl and Nell Baker of Banner. My wife is Laura Bryant Baker, daughter of Steve and Kathryn Bryant of Pittsboro. Laura and I are the parents of one daughter, Mary Katelyn.
I am a member of the First Baptist Church of Calhoun City and currently serve as a reserve Deacon and Executive Board Member to the Calhoun Baptist Association.
I’m a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management, and I am a Licensed Insurance Agent in the State of Mississippi with a Life, Health and Accident & Property and Casualty Endorsement.
Currently, I’m employed by Calhoun Health Services as an Accounts Payable Clerk. I am also employed part time by Parker Memorial Funeral Home as a Funeral Director’s Assistant.
Over the last 19 years, I have managed businesses with sales in excess of several million dollars. I have helped people protect some of their most precious assets such as homes and automobiles and save for retirement. In my current, I assist different departments to make sure all equipment and supplies are available to patients, and that the bills are paid in a timely and efficient manner. I have served many families during the loss of a loved one. All of these experiences, in addition to my education, make me a qualified candidate for Circuit Clerk.
