Calhoun Academy completed a clean sweep of Macon Central in basketball action last Friday in Pittsboro.
The junior high Lady Cougars more than doubled up Macon in a 29-13 victory.
The Lady Cougars had a balanced scoring attack with Mika Jones, Caly Denton, and Miranda McCormick all scoring six points each; Anna Grace Turner scored four points; Courtney Hubbard, Karlie Wade and Laken Langston two each and Sassy Landreth added one point.
The junior high boys had a much closer contest, but came out the victor by a 27-23 score.
Danny Joe Norman led the way with 14 points, followed by Hunter Harmon with eight, Warner Jones four and Steven Jackson with one point.
The high school girls made easy work of their visitors from Macon. The Lady Cougars won 48-28 behind 17 points from Brittney Sutherland.
Other scorers for Calhoun included Kelci McCormick 13, Allie Norman nine, Misty Pryor and Deanna Reynolds three each; Parker Shea Hardin two and Torri Descoteaux one.
Monday, the junior high girls fell to Hebron 30-15. Mika Jones scored eight, followed by Miranda McCormick with five and Laken Langston and Sassy Landreth with one each.
The junior high boys won 38-20. Hunter Harmon led the scoring with 13 points. Danny Joe Norman scored 12, Steven Jackson seven and Warner Jones six.
The high school girls edged by Hebron 31-29 with Kelci McCormick scoring nine, Brittney Sutherland seven, Deanna Reynolds six, Torri Descoteaux four, Allie Norman three, and Misty Pryor two.
The Lady Cougars are now 7-2 in district and back atop the district standings after a Tupelo-Christian loss on Monday.
Calhoun travels to Winona Christian Friday.
