Cougars Earn Win, Host Hebron Next

Calhoun Academy Cougars’ bats have come alive helping them to two victories recently.


The Cougars knocked off North Sunflower 9-7 on the road. The offense pounded out 12 hits, led by Warner Jones who had three doubles and five RBIs.
Hunter Harmon started on the mound for the Cougars and Taylor Shoemake finished the game in relief.
The Cougars followed that with a 15-10 victory over Kemper. Danny Joe Norman had five hits and five RBIs in the game. Allan Woodcock added four hits and four RBIs. The team had 18 hits overall.
Derek Hood earned the win pitching the last three innings. Harmon and Shoemake both pitched in the game as well.
The Cougars, 3-5 overall and 1-2 in district, are next at home against Hebron on Monday, April 5 at 1 p.m.
