Calhoun Health Services hosts community blood drive

CALHOUN CITY, Miss. – Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) wants to remind you that January is Blood Donor Awareness month. What better way to start the New Year off than by giving someone else the gift of a lifetime. Donating blood is one of the most personal ways you can help another, because you are literally giving a piece of yourself.

Calhoun Health Services will be holding a community blood drive on Monday, January 7, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be parked on site. All donors will receive a free T-shirt.

“Donating blood is as easy as sitting back and rolling up your sleeve,” Susan Ates, MBS public relations specialist, said. “But its impact can last a lifetime for patients, their families and their communities.”

Donating blood is safe, simple and it saves lives. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with signed parental consent, visit our Web site for a copy of the form), weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID. Visit us at msblood.com or call us at (888) 90-BLOOD (902-5663) for information.
