Calhoun Countians will elect their next chancery clerk today.
First-time candidates Romona Tillman and Susanne Wade advanced to today’s run-off after finishing first and second respectively in the Nov. 6 special election.
Tillman, of Pittsboro, led the ticket with 30% of the vote. She has worked in the chancery clerk’s office since 1992 and currently serves as deputy chancery clerk. She is married to Thomas Tillman, pastor of Jackson Chapel Church in Bruce and principal at Lafayette County Elementary School.
Wade, of Calhoun City, earned 17% of the vote on Nov. 6 to advance to the run-off. She has operated her own photography studio for years. She is married to Board of Supervisors President Barney Wade.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m..
