Calhoun City celebrated homecoming Friday night with a 49-0 win over Hatley.
The Wildcats improved to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in region play with the win.
Cartin McBride set the tone when he scored on a 54-yard run on the Wildcats’ first offensive play. He would ad a 35-yard touhdown run later in the opening quarter and Lavarious Varnado scored on a 36-yard run for a 22-0 lead after the opening quarter.
Varnado caught a 36-yard touchdown pass from Chakel Gates to open the second quarter. Gates added a 3-yard scoring run and Ryne Lee scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery when he jumped on his own fumble after catching a pass from Gates.
The only second half score came on a 25-yard pass from Jaalen Thomas to Jordan Pratt.
The Wildcats will host Bruce next Friday in the regular season finale.
Calhoun City can win region 1-2A and earn a top seed in the playoffs if they defeat the 8-2 Trojans by at least seven points.
