Rupert Lunceford will lead the annual Calhoun City Christmas Parade as grand marshal tonight (Monday, Dec. 3) at 6 p.m.
The parade will take its traditional route, organizing and leaving from the Calhoun City baseball field, approaching the Square from the west and exiting to the east.
The Chamber of Commerce will host “Christmas in the City” beginning at 4 p.m. at the Methodist Corner.
A Christmas bazaar will be set up on the sidewalks and a spaghetti supper will be served inside.
Carolers will be singing around the Square and local businesses are expected to stay open a little later than normal to greet customers.
After the parade, a Christmas auction will take place with numerous items available including wreaths.
The raffle drawing for five prizes – three guns, a gun safe and a Yeti cooler – will also be held. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any chamber member prior to the event.
“We’re looking forward to a great night in Calhoun City,” Chamber President Laura Edwards said. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.”
