The Bruce Trojans celebrated homecoming Friday night with a 55-0 win over Walnut in the Region 1-2A opener for both teams.
The Trojans scored at will for much o the game. Zack Cruthirds opened the game with a 53-yard touchdown run on Bruce’s first offensive play.
After the Trojan defense forced a 3-and-out, Shaq Bush returned the ensuing punt 55 yards for a touchdown. Bush would return two other punts for touchdowns in the game, but both of those were called back due to penalties.
Rashad Turner accounted for two touchdowns – a 66-yard pass from Davis Brown and a 78-yard pass from Donta Armstrong.
Brown also had an 18-yard scoring pass to Terrance Jones and a 55-yard touchdown strike to Armstrong.
Brown also rushed for a 15-yard score.
Zay Armstrong scored on a 79-yard run.
Bruce improved to 5-2 on the season and 1-0 in region play.
They travel to winless Hatley next week.
