The only sure thing in the Region 1-2A playoff race is that Baldwyn will be the top seed. Bruce and Calhoun City’s playoff positioning can swing in a number of ways based on two games this Thursday – Calhoun City at Bruce, and Walnut at Hatley.
If ‘City and Walnut win:
Calhoun City would earn second in the region and host a first round playoff game. Walnut would earn third and Bruce would earn fourth, likely sending them to top-ranked West Bolivar to open the playoffs.
If Bruce and Walnut win:
Bruce, Walnut and Calhoun City would all tie for second in the region at 3-2. The tiebreaker would keep Calhoun City second, Walnut third and Bruce fourth, unless Bruce was to defeat Calhoun City by more than 12 when the tiebreaker becomes more confusing.
If ‘City and Hatley win:
Calhoun City earns second in the region, but Bruce is eliminated from the playoffs on tiebreakers with Walnut and Hatley.
If Bruce and Hatley win:
Bruce finishes second in the region and would host a first round playoff game. Calhoun City would be third and Hatley would qualify as fourth. Walnut would be eliminated.
Calhoun City 3-1
