Bruce native Armegis “Mego” Spearman has accepted a football coaching position with Central Methodist University Eagles, an NAIA school in Fayette, Missouri.
Spearman was an All-State selection and a member of the High School All- American Team during his playing days at Bruce High School.
He earned a scholarship to play for Ole Miss where he was a member of the Freshman All-SEC Team and a member of the All-SEC Team his junior and senior year (1998-1999). While at Ole Miss he earned a BA in Business Administration.
Spearman played professional football for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2000-2003, where he made eleven starts and was a member of the NFL All-Rookie Team.
He then went on to play briefly for the Houston Texans, the Washington Redskins and the Green Bay Packers before injuries cut his NFL career short.
Spearman is the assistant linebackers coach at CMU.
