The 4th Annual Ace Cannon Festival kicks off today (Saturday, May 29) on the square in Calhoun City.
This year's festival will include a variety of events for all ages including a 5K run/walk, arts and crafts, lots of food, games for kids, and live entertainment.
It all starts with the 5K run/walk. Registration will be from 7-8 a.m. between the Baptist and Methodist churches with the starting gun going off at 8 a.m. All proceeds will go to the Calhoun City Fire Department.
The registration fee is $15 in advance or $18 the day of event. Early registrants get a free 5K tshirt donated by Southern Belle.
The square will fill up with arts and crafts vendors beginning at 7 a.m. and have a little something for everybody.
Local musicians will entertain from the gazebo throughout the day. The evening entertainment will kickoff at 5 p.m. with Jason Adams and the Honky Tonkin Heroes.
The gospel group Shiloh will take the stage at 6 p.m. and be followed by Ace Cannon himself at 7 p.m. Ace's performance will be sponsored by Southern Belle Originals.
Busted Screen Door, a band from Tupelo, will conclude the days entertainment with a performance from 8-9 p.m.
This year's festival is being sponsored by Southern Belle Originals, New Century Club, Southern Discount Drugs, and Calhoun Apparel.
Everyone is encouraged to bring your lawn chair and spend the day on the square in Calhoun City.
