Lindsey Liles, of Calhoun City, has been chosen to play for the West all-stars in the Northeast Mississippi Softball Coaches Association All-Star game.
Four Bruce Trojans earned All-Division honors for this past baseball season in which the Trojans finished second in the division and advanced to the second round of the playoffs.

The Bruce Board of Aldermen voted 4-1 Monday night to adopt a water rate increase expected to generate approximately $140,000 in additional revenue, but questions linger if the increase is enough.
Clara Bennett Coston, 96, Bruce, died May 22, 2011 at the Arbor Terrace in Bastrop, La. She was born April 17, 1915 in Calhoun County, the daughter of Sim R. Bennett and Cassie Ruth Coston. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Baptist Church.
