Edward Franklin “Frank” Wooten, 75, of Coffeeville, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his home. He was born March 11, 1936 in Big Creek, the son of Jim Grey and Euva Mae Carter Wooten. A member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, he was a farmer, trucker and cotton ginner. A member of Yalobusha Cooperative Gin Co., he was named 2005 Yalobusha County Farmer of the year.
Lloyd Freely
Walter “Lloyd” Freely, 84, of Tampa died March 14, 2011. Born and raised near Vardaman, in March of 1927, he was a teacher for 35 years, retiring after most of those years with the Hillsborough County Schools as a vocational agriculture teacher at MacDonald Training Center where he established a plant nursery in 1967. A veteran of WWII, he spent a year following the war in Italy with the 88th Inventory Division and also was a world traveler who visited all over the U.S. and abroad. He was a Baptist and held positions in many social organizations. He was president of Bachelors and Bells Singles Club for two years.
