Dorothy Russell Murphree, 81, of Asheville, NC, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, after a recent struggle with leukemia. A Calhoun County native, she is the daughter of the late Hiram and Mamie Russell of Pittsboro.

Tony Boykin, 42, of Bruce, died September 23, 2010 at his home. He was born September 20, 1968 in Clarksdale. He was a former construction worker and painter.
