Itawamba Community College’s new head football coach, Jon Williams, has dipped into Terry Bowden’s coaching staff at the University of North Alabama for his new defensive coordinator. Calhoun City native Sean Cannon, who has 13 years of collegiate coaching experience, heads to ICC after four years of coaching the linebackers and serving as strength and conditioning coach at UNA.

Kathleen Vanlandingham, 86, of Bruce, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Calhoun Health Services nursing home in Calhoun City. She was born March 17, 1923 in Memphis, the daughter of Ed and Minnie Haire Vanlandingham. She had worked in retail sales, she was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bruce.
