Dorris Lynn Cain, Jr. 83, died Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born September 19, 1926 in Yalobusha County to Doyle L. and Sallie Potts Cain. He worked many years at Holley Carburetor as a machine operator in Water Valley. He was a Deacon at the Sardis Lake Baptist Church in Sardis, MS.

Pearl Clark Eakin, 84, of Calhoun City, died Sunday,?Nov. 22, 2009 at Calhoun Health Services. She was born January 6, 1925 in Lloyd, the daughter of Sim and Effie Ellard Clark. She was a retired employee of Kellwood Company, and was a member of Calhoun City First Baptist Church and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of American Legion.

Sadie Massey Hartgrove, 88, died Friday, November 20, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Bogart, Ga. She was born in Calhoun County, to John Stoklin and Annie Paradine Turner Massey. She retired from Western Electric Company in Winston-Salem, NC as a payroll accountant after many years of service She was a member of Germantown Baptist Church.

Jimmy Stauddy, of Holcomb, MS, passed from this life into his eternal home Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009. He pastored Minter City United Methodist Church in Minter City for the last 11 years. He was a loving, dedicated minister, and a giver to all. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and Emory Theological Seminary in Atlanta. He served with the Grenada Police Department for 21 years and Bureau of Narcotics for three years. He was passionate about his work and tried hard to be fair and just to everyone. He retired from the Army National Guard after 32 years with the rank of Master Sergeant volunteering for numerous humanitarian missions including Honduras, Germany, Austria, and South Korea.
