Jean Bailey Baecher, 78, of Vardaman, died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at St. Francis Nursing Home in?Memphis. She was born December 31, 1930 in Derma, the daughter of Monroe and Florence Vanlandingham Bailey. She was a retired inspector for Kellwood Co. and was a member of Vardaman First Baptist Church.

Unemployment Rate Down In February

Calhoun County unemployment decreased in February and remains virtually
equal to most of the surrounding counties, according to the Mississippi
Department of Employment Security.
